Which LED face mask fits you? 15 masks in Europe compared (2026)
The LED face mask (also sold as a red light face mask) that fits you depends on four things: its light colours, whether it is flexible silicone or a shell, the session routine its maker sets, and what comes with it, from eye protection to the warranty. This guide compares 15 masks from 14 brands that EU shoppers can buy, using what each maker publishes.
Written by Resty. Resty (Reventis B.V.) sells LED face masks, including the MARS100 and the MARS 200 PRO compared here, so this comparison is not independent. Details for other brands come from their own product pages and instructions, checked on 18 October 2026. Resty earns no commission from other brands mentioned here.
Quick picks by need
Which LED face mask fits your need?
The right mask depends on its colours, controls, format and eye protection; the picks below are grouped by those needs, not ranked. Resty masks appear as cards because they are our products; other brands are named alphabetically.
Red and near-infrared only, no blue light
BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask, NOOANCE Elite X600 or Omnilux Contour Face
These three list only red (630 to 633 nm) and near-infrared (830 to 850 nm). Limitation: the NOOANCE and Omnilux masks run one fixed program with both colours together; of the three, only BON CHARGE lets you run each colour alone.

Four colours, no cable: controls on the mask
MARS100 LED Face Mask in the Resty shop (our product)
The Resty MARS100 is a cordless, flexible silicone mask with 68 LEDs in blue, amber, red and near-infrared (about 415, 590, 630 and 850 nm, according to the product page), three preset programs and controls on the mask; it weighs about 240 g. For purchases on feelresty.com it has a 3-year warranty (conditions) and a 60-day trial that also covers opened masks; you pay the return shipping (conditions). See the current price on the product page. Limitation: the product page does not say which colours each program uses, and no brightness setting is listed.
Also with four or more colours: the CurrentBody, Dr. Dennis Gross (shell-type), FOREO, Maxi Meilleur, Nanoleaf, Panacea, Rosental Organics and Silk'n masks.
Also without a cable to a controller: Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro, FOREO FAQ 202 (app needed to activate), Silk'n LED Face Mask Pro (controller attaches magnetically to the mask) and Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo.

Set colour mix, brightness and timer by remote
MARS 200 PRO LED Face Mask in the Resty shop (our product)
The Resty MARS 200 PRO is a cordless, flexible mask with 288 light chips at 460, 630 and 850 nm, three programs (red with near-infrared, blue with near-infrared, or all three), three brightness levels and a 5, 10 or 15-minute timer, all set by remote; it weighs about 280 g. It has the same 60-day trial for purchases on feelresty.com (conditions); see the current price on the product page. Limitation: eye protection is not included in the box.
Also with adjustable brightness: BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask (three levels), Maxi Meilleur Pro Series (three), Nanoleaf Light Therapy Face Mask (five), Panacea LED Masker (three) and Rosental Organics LED Face Mask (three).
A shell instead of silicone
Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro, Shark CryoGlow or Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo
All three are shell-type masks; the Shark adds under-eye cooling and the Therabody vibration in the head strap. Limitation: the Shark and Therabody weigh 770 g and 514 g, and Dr. Dennis Gross ships only within the US; EU shoppers can buy it through UK retailer Cult Beauty.
Eye protection in the box
Eight of the 15 masks list it in the box
Their makers list eye shields, inserts, cups or glasses in the box: BON CHARGE, CurrentBody, Maxi Meilleur, Nanoleaf, NOOANCE, Rosental Organics, Shark and Therabody. Limitation: what is included differs, from eye inserts to cups, shields or glasses, so check the box list and the eye instructions for the mask you choose.
Short answer: start with the colours. For red and near-infrared only, look at BON CHARGE, NOOANCE or Omnilux; for a flexible mask with four or more colours and no cable to a controller, FOREO FAQ 202, Silk'n LED Face Mask Pro or the Resty MARS100 (our product); for a shell, the Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro, or the Shark CryoGlow or Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo if you want cooling or vibration. Want to set blue, red and near-infrared, three brightness levels and a 5, 10 or 15-minute timer by remote? Look at the Resty MARS 200 PRO (our product). Then compare controls, session time, eye protection and warranty in the tables.

How do the 15 masks compare on format and light?
Twelve of the 15 masks are flexible and three are shell-type masks; twelve include blue light, and three use only red and near-infrared.
Every figure is the maker's own statement unless a cell names a retailer, and "shell-type" is our classification from each maker's description and photos (none of the three makers calls its mask rigid); NIR means near-infrared. Wavelengths are nominal values, and an "LED" can mean a single chip or a package of several chips (see reading the specs).
| Mask | Format | LEDs (as stated) | Nominal wavelengths (nm) | Light settings |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask | Flexible silicone | 240 | 630, 850 | Red, NIR or both; 3 intensity levels |

Not a full market overview: LED face masks sold to EU shoppers whose makers publish wavelengths and LED counts, sorted by format, then alphabetically by brand. Resty is our own brand. We re-check at least every 90 days; missing details say "no manufacturer statement"; brand names identify products only (method).
How long are sessions, and how are the masks powered?
Makers recommend 3 to 20 minutes per session, from daily use (for example Dr. Dennis Gross, Shark, and Panacea for the first four weeks) to three to five times a week (for example Rosental Organics), and some timers run up to 30 minutes (BON CHARGE, Maxi Meilleur, Nanoleaf), so follow the manual of the mask you choose. Many masks run from a separate battery controller or remote, often on a cable, while FOREO, Therabody, Dr. Dennis Gross and both Resty masks have no cable to a controller, and Silk'n's controller attaches magnetically to the mask.

Same selection and sort order as the first table, not a full market overview; Resty is our own brand, and brand names identify products only. We re-check at least every 90 days (method). Irradiance appears only where the maker says where it was measured; no maker says its figure is an average over the face, so the figures are not comparable and not ranked. The MARS100 figure is a supplier measurement at 2.5 cm that read 52.7 to 106.5 mW/cm² for three different LED combinations.
Which LED face masks include eye protection, and what warranty comes with them?
Eight of the 15 masks list eye shields, inserts, cups or glasses in the box, and Silk'n's product FAQ and the Resty MARS100 manual mention eye covers that their product-page box lists leave out; every maker publishes its own list of people who should not use its mask, and the stated warranties run from one to three years.

Same selection and sort order as the first table, not a full market overview; Resty is our own brand, and brand names identify products only. We re-check at least every 90 days (method). "No manufacturer statement" means none was found; where a maker's own pages disagree, both values are shown. The exclusions column is a short summary: read the full list in the manual of the mask you choose. Statutory consumer rights apply to every product in this table, whatever the warranty column says.
Red, near-infrared, blue or amber: what do the colours on a mask mean?
The colours on a mask's spec sheet are nominal LED wavelengths. Blue sits at about 410 to 465 nm, green at about 520 to 532 nm, amber or yellow at about 590 to 605 nm, red at about 630 to 660 nm and near-infrared at about 830 to 880 nm. Three masks add a second near-infrared wavelength at 1072 nm (CurrentBody Series 3, Panacea and Silk'n), and FOREO lists further colours, such as cyan and purple, with values that differ between its English and German pages.
Near-infrared at 830 to 880 nm lies just beyond the visible range (about 380 to 780 nm), so those LEDs look dim or faintly red even when they are on. Brightness to the eye therefore says little about how much light a mask emits.
How the colours are combined differs per mask. The Omnilux Contour Face and NOOANCE Elite X600 run one fixed program with red and near-infrared together, while the CurrentBody Series 3 offers four preset combinations of its six wavelengths plus an app setting. Nanoleaf keeps near-infrared on in every mode, Shark runs three fixed combinations and Resty's MARS 200 PRO pairs near-infrared with red, with blue, or with both; most of the others let you run at least some colours alone. Studies use specific wavelengths, doses and schedules, and their results do not transfer automatically to a home mask (see what the research says). For how blue and red light differ in general, see our blue vs red light guide.
Flexible silicone or a shell: which format suits you?
Choose flexible silicone if you want a lighter mask that rests on the face, and a shell-type mask if you want extras such as under-eye cooling or vibration. Twelve of the 15 masks are flexible and held by straps (about 170 to 460 g where the maker states a weight). The other three are shell-type by our classification from the makers' descriptions and photos: Shark describes a shield design held slightly off the skin (770 g), Therabody lists a PC and ABS plastic housing (514 g), and the Dr. Dennis Gross mask has metallic outer panels.
The Shark CryoGlow adds under-eye cooling and the Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo vibration in the head strap; coverage also differs at the chin and eyes: CurrentBody uses a chin strap, Maxi Meilleur, NOOANCE and Silk'n cover the chin, FOREO leaves the eye area uncovered, and Resty's MARS 200 PRO has one wide eye opening instead of two.
None of the 15 covers the neck. BON CHARGE, CurrentBody, FOREO, Maxi Meilleur, Nanoleaf, NOOANCE, Omnilux, Panacea and Silk'n sell separate neck, chest or décolleté pieces; Resty does not.
Many masks use a separate controller or remote, often on a cable. FOREO, Therabody, Dr. Dennis Gross and both Resty masks are used without a cable to a controller, and Silk'n's controller attaches magnetically to the mask.
Why can't you compare LED counts and irradiance between masks?
Because makers count and measure in different ways: one "LED" can be a package of several chips, and each irradiance figure is measured at a different point with different equipment, or not published at all.
- LED counts. Nanoleaf's 432 LEDs are 108 packages of four chips, Shark's 480 are 160 three-chip LEDs, FOREO counts 600 "light points", the Rosental manual gives 68 LEDs and "272 beams of light", and Resty counts 288 "light chips" for the MARS 200 PRO. More LEDs do not tell you how much light reaches the skin.
- Irradiance. Panacea measures at the LED surface with a named spectrometer, NOOANCE in contact with the silicone (according to its FAQ), Shark "at the source of the LED" and Resty at 2.5 cm for the MARS100. Seven makers state a figure without saying where it was measured, including Resty for the MARS 200 PRO; Therabody states a dose per step instead; three publish none. A 2026 laboratory study of four cosmetic LED masks (Baeza-Moyano et al.) found large differences in measured irradiance between masks and noted that their documentation lacked data on the energy they emit.
- Watts and dose. Watt figures describe electrical input, not light output. The light dose depends on irradiance and time, and few makers state it (CurrentBody and Therabody give J/cm² figures), so a shorter session is not automatically weaker or stronger.
We did not measure any mask. If you want to compare output, ask the maker for the distance, setting and instrument behind its figure.

How do you choose an LED face mask?
Start with the colours you want, then check the fit, the routine you can keep, the controls, eye protection and the buying terms.
- Colours. Decide between red and near-infrared only or a mask that adds blue and other colours, and whether you want to run colours separately. Check: the wavelength and light-settings columns in the first table.
- Format and fit. Flexible silicone rests on the face; shell-type masks hold their LEDs around it, and the two whose makers state a weight are heavier. Check: the format column in the first table, the weight column in the second, and whether the chin is covered.
- Routine. Pick a session plan you will keep: makers recommend 3 to 20 minutes per session, from daily to three to five times a week. Check: the session column in the second table.
- Power and controls. Battery in the mask or a separate controller, often on a cable; buttons, remote or app; brightness levels; and the runtime per charge where stated. Check: the light-settings column in the first table and the power column in the second.
- Eyes and exclusions. Whether eye protection is in the box, and whether the maker's "not for" list includes you. Check: the third table and the full list in the manual.
- Buying terms. The warranty as the maker states it, where the seller ships from, and the return terms, which differ widely: some sellers accept only unopened or unused devices, others give 30 to 180 days, sometimes minus a return or restocking fee. Check the current return terms of the seller you buy from.
Where do the Resty masks fit, and when do they not?
Resty sells two masks: the MARS100 for a simple routine with four colours and controls on the mask, and the MARS 200 PRO for choosing the colour combination, brightness and timer by remote.
Both are cordless, flexible masks sold on feelresty.com to 25 EU countries plus Norway and Switzerland, with a 60-day trial for purchases on feelresty.com that also covers opened masks; you pay the return shipping (conditions). Current prices are on the product pages and in the Resty LED face mask collection.
- Choose the MARS100 LED Face Mask in the Resty shop (our product) if you want four colours from 68 LEDs, three preset programs started on the mask itself, the lighter of the two masks (about 240 g) and a 3-year warranty for purchases on feelresty.com (conditions).
- Choose the MARS 200 PRO LED Face Mask in the Resty shop (our product) if you want to set the colour combination, three brightness levels and a 5, 10 or 15-minute timer by remote, for up to 4 sessions a week within a limit of 20 minutes a day (manual); it weighs about 280 g. Its supplied manual states a one-year guarantee.
We found no published clinical study of either Resty mask. Like most masks here whose makers address charging, including CurrentBody, FOREO, Omnilux and Rosental Organics, neither can be used while it is charging. For cleaning, follow the care section of your mask's manual; our LED face mask vs red light panel guide shows how to clean the MARS100.
When a Resty mask is not the right choice:
- You want no blue LEDs at all: BON CHARGE, NOOANCE and Omnilux list only red and near-infrared. The MARS 200 PRO has blue LEDs but also a red and near-infrared program (630 and 850 nm); for the MARS100, the product page does not say which colours each program uses.
- You want a neck or décolleté piece: Resty does not sell one; nine other brands in this comparison do.
- You want eye protection listed in the box: eight other makers list it.
- You want a shell or extras such as cooling or vibration: look at the Shark CryoGlow or the Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo.
- You also want to reach other parts of the body: a red light panel may suit you better. See our LED face mask vs red light panel guide and the red light panel comparison.
What does the research say about LED face masks?
The research is limited and mixed, and on PubMed (checked 18 October 2026) we found no peer-reviewed study of any of the 15 exact masks in this comparison.
Most clinical studies of red and near-infrared LED light on facial skin are small and short, and they use different wavelengths, doses and schedules, so their findings are hard to compare. A 2026 systematic review of at-home LED devices for facial ageing (Das et al., Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) found 8 studies with 365 participants, most of them using red and near-infrared light, and reported differences in the measured outcomes; it also pointed to variable treatment protocols, limited comparative data and under-representation of diverse skin types, and called for larger, standardised trials.
The one randomised, sham-controlled trial of a home-use red and near-infrared face device we found (Park et al., 2025, Medicine) included 60 adults at two study centres in Korea who used the device for 12 weeks. It measured crow's-feet wrinkle grades and reported a difference from sham; the device maker funded the study, the sham still emitted weak red light, and only one device and one population were tested.
In a 2025 randomised, double-blind trial with 95 women (Bragato et al., Lasers in Medical Science, publicly funded), a clinician-rated wrinkle scale showed no difference between a red LED mask used in a research setting and sham, while software-measured wrinkle length differed in two of the four facial areas measured; treatment lasted 4 weeks.
A 2016 Cochrane review of 71 randomised trials of light therapies, including blue and red light, lasers and photodynamic therapy (Barbaric et al.), states that "high-quality evidence on the use of light therapies for people with acne is lacking", and two thirds of the studies it covered were industry-sponsored.
Our article Do LED face masks work? covers the studies in more detail.
Who should not use an LED face mask?
Each mask's manual lists who should not use it, and the lists differ: pregnancy or breastfeeding, light-sensitising medicines and children appear on most lists, and six makers also name epilepsy or light-triggered seizures. The third table shows the main points per maker.
Some medicines and skin-care ingredients, such as retinoids, AHA and BHA acids and some antibiotics, make skin more sensitive to light. The MARS100 manual says not to use that mask during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on children or if you are sensitive to light, and not on the same day as retinol or AHA/BHA products. Several makers, including BON CHARGE, Rosental Organics, Shark, Therabody and Resty for the MARS 200 PRO, also name pacemakers. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using any LED mask if you use such medicines or skin care, if flashing or bright light can trigger seizures for you, or if you have an eye or skin condition.
Keep your eyes closed during a session and use the eye protection supplied, if your mask comes with it. The MARS 200 PRO has one wide eye opening, comes without eye protection, and neither its product page nor its supplied manual gives a specific eye instruction, so keep your eyes closed throughout a session. Makers' eye instructions differ, so read the eye section of your mask's manual before the first session. In 2019 Johnson & Johnson recalled its Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask as a precaution, citing a "theoretical risk of eye injury" for people with certain eye conditions or taking medicines that make the eyes more sensitive to light (field safety notice published by the German regulator BfArM, 28 June 2019). In 2018 the EU scientific committee SCHEER, in an opinion on LED lighting, displays and some consumer products that did not assess face masks, found no evidence of direct harm from LEDs in normal lighting and display use for healthy people, but noted that blue LED light (400 to 500 nm) may induce photochemical damage to the retina, a concern especially for children under three. Our guide on eyes and eye protection during red light therapy explains more.
Do not use an LED mask over a changing mole, an unexplained spot, a wound or irritated skin, and have such skin checked by a doctor first. Stop if the mask feels hot, if your skin burns or itches, or if your eyes feel uncomfortable.
How we compared these masks
We compared LED face masks worn on the face that EU shoppers can buy and whose makers publish wavelengths and the number of LEDs: one current model per brand, and two for Resty. We chose them from the masks named in Google results and in answers from OpenAI's web search in October 2026 and the brands EU shoppers searched for, plus BON CHARGE, which we added for its EU storefront and complete published specifications, and both Resty masks. Other masks named in those answers, such as HigherDOSE, SolarMask and Skin Gym, were not researched for this edition. Sources were makers' product pages, manuals and policy pages, checked on 18 October 2026; Resty figures come from the MARS100 and MARS 200 PRO product pages, their manuals and the feelresty.com policies. We did not buy, measure or test any mask.
Not included: neck-only, eye-only and partial-face devices, panels, wands and caps. We also left out older generations, such as the CurrentBody Series 2 that many reviews name (still sold; this guide compares the current Series 3). Beauty Pie does not ship to the EU, Hooga Luma ships from the US with import duties paid by the buyer, and Déesse PRO ships from the UK with conflicting statements on EU duties, so they are not included. Prices are left out because they change often, and regulatory or certification statements are not compared. On 18 October 2026, a search of test.de found no Stiftung Warentest test of LED face masks, so no test result is shown here.
This is not a full market overview. Tables are sorted by format (flexible masks, then shell-type masks), then alphabetically by brand. Resty sells the MARS100 and MARS 200 PRO and earns no commission from other brands; we re-check at least every 90 days and before any edit.
Frequently asked questions
Which LED face mask should you choose?
Start with the colours you want. BON CHARGE, NOOANCE and Omnilux list only red and near-infrared. CurrentBody Series 3, FOREO, Maxi Meilleur, Nanoleaf, Panacea, Rosental Organics, Silk'n and the Resty MARS100 (our product) are flexible masks with four or more colours; the Resty MARS 200 PRO (our product) has blue, red and near-infrared, set by remote. Dr. Dennis Gross, Shark and Therabody make shell-type masks. Then compare brightness settings, eye protection, session time and warranty.
What wavelengths do LED face masks use?
All 15 masks in this comparison list red light at about 630 to 660 nm and near-infrared at about 830 to 880 nm. Twelve of the 15 also have blue at about 410 to 465 nm, and several add amber, green, other colours or a second near-infrared wavelength at 1072 nm. These are nominal values from each maker, and how the colours are combined differs per mask.
Has any of these LED face masks been studied?
We found no peer-reviewed study of any of the 15 masks compared here on PubMed (checked 18 October 2026). Studies of LED light on facial skin in general are small and short, use different devices and doses, and several were funded by device makers, so their findings do not transfer automatically to any one home mask. Our article Do LED face masks work? summarises the studies.
Which LED face masks come with eye protection?
Eight of the 15 masks list eye shields, inserts, cups or glasses in the box: BON CHARGE, CurrentBody, Maxi Meilleur, Nanoleaf, NOOANCE, Rosental Organics, Shark and Therabody. Silk'n's product FAQ and the Resty MARS100 manual mention eye covers that their product-page box lists leave out; the Resty MARS 200 PRO comes without. Keep your eyes closed and use any protection supplied; our guide to eyes and eye protection during red light therapy explains more.
How long and how often should you use an LED face mask?
Follow your mask's manual. Makers recommend 3 to 20 minutes per session, from daily (Dr. Dennis Gross 3 minutes; Panacea 10 to 20 minutes for the first four weeks) to three to five times a week (Rosental Organics). The Resty MARS 200 PRO manual gives up to 4 sessions a week within a 20-minute daily limit; for the Resty MARS100, the manual gives about 10 minutes and the product page 10 to 20 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week.
Which LED face masks have no blue light?
Three of the 15 masks list only red and near-infrared LEDs: the BON CHARGE Red Light Face Mask, NOOANCE Elite X600 and Omnilux Contour Face. Others have blue LEDs but let you run red without blue, for example Panacea, Silk'n, Therabody and the Resty MARS 200 PRO (our product), whose red and near-infrared program uses 630 and 850 nm. The MARS100 product page does not say which colours each program uses.
Where can EU shoppers buy these LED face masks?
All 15 could be bought by EU shoppers in October 2026, in different ways: most makers run an EU storefront, Maxi Meilleur also sells on bol.com, Shark and Therabody also through Coolblue, BON CHARGE covers import duties for EU orders, and Dr. Dennis Gross is available through UK retailer Cult Beauty. Resty sells both its masks on feelresty.com to 25 EU countries plus Norway and Switzerland, not to the United Kingdom.
What warranty do LED face masks have?
Makers here state one to three years: most give 2 years in the EU, Maxi Meilleur and BON CHARGE 1 year, Panacea and Rosental Organics different values in different sources, and Dr. Dennis Gross leaves it to the seller outside the US. The Resty MARS100 has a 3-year warranty for purchases on feelresty.com (conditions); the MARS 200 PRO's supplied manual states a one-year guarantee. Statutory consumer rights apply to every mask, whatever the warranty.
MARS100 or MARS 200 PRO: which Resty mask fits you?
Choose the MARS100 (our product) for a cordless silicone mask with four colours, three preset programs and controls on the mask, with a 3-year warranty for purchases on feelresty.com (conditions). Choose the MARS 200 PRO (our product) to set the colour combination, brightness and timer yourself by remote. Neither product page lists eye protection in the box, and neither mask covers the neck.
