Which red light therapy panel fits you? 19 panels in Europe compared (2026)
The right red light therapy panel for you in Europe depends on the area you want to cover, how you want to control the light and the buying terms where you live. This guide compares 19 panels from 13 brands in three size classes: compact (under 45 cm tall), half-body (about 64 to 92 cm) and full-body (150 cm or more).
Written by Resty. Resty (Reventis B.V.) sells red light panels, including the MARS 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and 2000 compared here, so this comparison is not independent. Details for other brands come from their own product and policy pages, checked on 17 October 2026. Resty earns no commission from other brands mentioned here.
Quick picks by need
Which red light panel fits your need?
Picks run from the smallest area to the largest, then EU dispatch. Resty panels appear as cards because they are our products, not as a ranking; other brands follow alphabetically.

Face, neck or one area, simple controls
MARS 400 Red Light Panel in the Resty shop (our product)
The Resty MARS 400 has 60 LEDs at nominal 660 and 850 nm, one button for red, near-infrared or both, and an automatic 10-minute timer; it weighs 2.6 kg. Limitation: no app, remote or adjustable timer, and the product page's box list names no stand.
Also compact with two wavelengths: Hooga PRO300, Joovv Mini 3.0, Nanoleaf Light Therapy Panel and Nuvibody CORE 300.

One area, control per wavelength
MARS 600 Red Light Panel in the Resty shop (our product)
The Resty MARS 600 has 72 LEDs at nine nominal wavelengths (480 to 1060 nm), dimming per wavelength by touchscreen, remote or app, and a tabletop stand in the box. Limitation: Resty names no instrument for its irradiance figure.
Also compact with several wavelengths: Liroma PrimeFORCE Compact Gen5 (a pre-order on 17 October 2026).

Torso or legs, half-body
MARS 1000 Red Light Panel in the Resty shop (our product)
The Resty MARS 1000 has 216 LEDs at nine nominal wavelengths in a 92 x 23 cm column of about 8.5 kg, with a mounting kit (the floor stand in the photo is not on the box list). Limitation: Resty publishes nominal power, not a measured draw.
Also 91 to 92 cm tall: BON CHARGE Max, Dermfix RLF1500, Joovv Solo 3.0, PlatinumLED BIOMAX 900 and Red Light Rising Advantage 900.
Full body, fixed setup
BlockBlueLight PowerPanel ELITE XL, MITO LIGHT Master 5.0, Resty MARS 2000 (our product) or Vitalwave VT2000
All four are 150 to about 184 cm tall and 16 to 33 kg, and need a stand, wall mount or hanging system. Limitation: the MARS 2000 could not be ordered on 17 October 2026, and Vitalwave's shop lists delivery to the Netherlands and Belgium only.
Ships from inside the EU
Dermfix RLF1500, Nanoleaf Light Therapy Panel, Nuvibody CORE 300, PlatinumLED BIOMAX 900 or Resty MARS (our product)
These five brands state EU dispatch; Liroma, MITO LIGHT and Vitalwave are EU-based but name no dispatch location. Limitation: PlatinumLED's shipping page also mentions import duties, and Resty does not ship to Cyprus or Malta.
Short answer: choose the size class first (compact, such as the Hooga PRO300, Nuvibody CORE 300 or Resty MARS 400, for one area; 91 to 92 cm for the torso or legs; 150 to about 184 cm for the whole body), then compare controls, dispatch, warranty and trial.

Which compact red light panel suits a small area?
Seven compact panels under 45 cm tall are compared for the face, neck or one area; five list two nominal wavelengths, and the Liroma PrimeFORCE Compact Gen5 and Resty MARS 600 list eight or nine.
Every figure is the maker's own statement; NIR means near-infrared. Irradiance compares only at matching distance, instrument and mode (see reading specs).

Check again when you order, including who pays return shipping on a 25 to 33 kg panel; our Joovv alternatives in Europe guide covers Joovv's terms.
How do you read red light panel specs?
Read every number with its conditions:
- Irradiance needs a distance, an instrument and a mode: MITO LIGHT states 165 mW/cm² with a solar meter and 90 with a spectrometer for the same panel at 15 cm.
- Watts can be an LED rating (Nuvibody's "300 watt" is 60 LEDs of 5 W), a measured draw or volt-amperes (Joovv); only a consumption figure shows electricity use.
- LED and wavelength counts show what is present, not how much light reaches you.
- "FDA registered" or "listed" is not "FDA cleared", and flicker and EMF figures are the makers' own statements.
Irradiance depends on distance, instrument and mode
Irradiance falls with distance: Vitalwave lists 180 mW/cm² at 8 cm and 131 at 30 cm. Solar meters and spectrometers give different figures for one panel; spectrometer figures at about 15 cm fall between 81 and 90 mW/cm² (BlockBlueLight, Dermfix, MITO LIGHT, Nuvibody, Red Light Rising). Mode matters too: red and NIR together, one channel or an intensity level. Liroma and Red Light Rising measured their panels themselves; Resty's MARS figures state 15 cm and, for the MARS 600 to 2000, combined mode, but no instrument. At the same distance, higher irradiance reaches a given dose in J/cm² sooner (dose is irradiance multiplied by time), but laboratory and animal studies describe a biphasic dose response, so no table here is sorted by irradiance.
Does "FDA registered" mean "FDA cleared"?
No. The FDA says a registration and listing entry does not denote approval, clearance or authorisation; 510(k) clearance is a separate decision for a specific device. At least one maker in this comparison states that its panels are listed under FDA product code ILY (checked on 17 October 2026), which the FDA classification database lists ("lamp, infrared, therapeutic heating") as class II and 510(k) exempt.
We did not check other makers' FDA wording, from "registered" to "Class II", in FDA databases, so it is not repeated here; for a device said to be cleared, look up its 510(k) number. The American Academy of Dermatology adds that clearance says nothing about how effective a device is. Resty's MARS product pages make no FDA claim; CE marks and named standards are each maker's own declaration.
Flicker and EMF figures are maker statements
Six makers state on their product pages (checked on 17 October 2026) that their light or driver is flicker-free: Dermfix, Hooga, Liroma, MITO LIGHT, Nuvibody and Vitalwave (in Dutch: "flikkervrij"). BON CHARGE and BlockBlueLight state "zero" flicker and Red Light Rising 0%, citing a flicker analysis. EMF figures from nine makers mix units, distances and wording; only Red Light Rising names its meter, and Resty's MARS pages state a figure without naming one.
What should you compare between red light panels? Six checks
- Area and size class. Compact panels here are 27.6 to 37.5 cm on their longest side, half-body panels 64 to 92 cm, full-body panels 150 to about 184 cm; our guide to red light panel sizes explains coverage per area.
- Mounting and weight. Check what is in the box and whether your table, door or wall takes 546 g (Nanoleaf) to 33 kg (MITO LIGHT).
- Controls. A red, NIR or both switch, or per-wavelength dimming by touchscreen, remote or app.
- Output information. Compare irradiance only when distance, instrument and mode are stated.
- EU buying terms. Dispatch, customs, plug, warranty conditions, trial length and who pays return shipping.
- Running cost and routine. Use a consumption figure, not an LED rating, and follow the manual's session guidance; our electricity cost calculator estimates running cost per MARS model.
Which Resty MARS panel fits which need?
- Face, neck or one area with one-button control: the Resty MARS 400 (red and near-infrared, fixed 10-minute timer).
- One area with control per wavelength: the Resty MARS 600 (nine wavelengths, tabletop stand).
- More height than a compact panel: the Resty MARS 800 (64 x 23 cm, about 6 kg).
- Torso or legs in one narrow column: the Resty MARS 1000 (92 x 23 cm, about 8.5 kg).
- Half-body height at double width: the Resty MARS 1200 (92 x 42 cm, about 15.3 kg, pulley system).
- Full-body height in a fixed spot: the Resty MARS 2000 (864 LEDs, about 29.4 kg); it could not be ordered on 17 October 2026.
For purchases on feelresty.com, MARS panels have a 3-year commercial warranty against manufacturing and material defects in normal home use (panels delivered from 18 July 2026; warranty conditions) and a 60-day try-out: you pay return shipping, and from day 15 the original delivery cost is not refunded (try-out conditions). Resty ships within the EU, except to Cyprus and Malta (shipping policy). The red light therapy panel collection lists every MARS model with its current price and stock.
When another panel may suit you better
- An irradiance figure with a named instrument: Dermfix, Liroma and Red Light Rising name the model; Resty names no instrument.
- A consumption figure: BlockBlueLight, Dermfix, Hooga, MITO LIGHT, PlatinumLED (lab report) and Red Light Rising publish one; Resty publishes nominal power.
- A longer warranty or trial: on 17 October 2026, BlockBlueLight stated a 5-year warranty, Nuvibody a 120-day trial and Red Light Rising a 365-day trial.
- A very light, low-power device: the Nanoleaf panel weighs 546 g and uses 19 W through USB-C.
Only want your face? A mask is a different device
A face mask covers only the face, so masks are not in these tables. The MARS100 LED face mask in the Resty shop (our product) is a wireless silicone mask with 68 LEDs at nominal 415, 590, 630 and 850 nm, about 240 g, with USB-C. Our red light mask vs panel guide compares the two.
Our LED face mask comparison lines up masks sold in Europe.
What does the research say about home red light panels?
The studies below did not test home panels. They show that outcomes depend on wavelength, dose and protocol and do not transfer automatically to a home panel, which is why this comparison lists specifications, not expected outcomes.
The four sources in detail
- Zein, Selting and Hamblin (Journal of Biomedical Optics, 2018) reviewed light parameters in 34 cell and in vivo studies (2007 to 2016), note that there is still no agreement on parameters, and call their conclusions on too much or too little light tentative because few studies qualified. Europe PMC lists US National Institutes of Health grants for this review.
- Huang, Sharma, Carroll and Hamblin (Dose-Response, 2011) reviewed preclinical work on the biphasic dose response: in cell and animal experiments, too little and too much light both produced weaker effects than an intermediate dose. Europe PMC lists a US National Institutes of Health grant for this review.
- Glass (Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, 2021) wrote in a review that the lack of regulatory standards makes clear conclusions about efficacy and safety difficult, and that much preclinical evidence comes from lasers rather than diodes.
- The American Academy of Dermatology (updated 13 September 2024) notes that the red light dermatologists offer is more powerful than home devices, and that results take time and not everyone sees them.
Who should not use a red light panel, and when should you stop?
Do not use a panel if its manual rules you out. Resty's MARS 600 to 2000 manual, for example, says not to use the panel if you:
- are light-sensitive or take photosensitising medication
- have a history of light-triggered seizures
- have skin type V or VI on the Fitzpatrick scale
- are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy
- had sunburn in the past two weeks, or have open wounds in the area
The same manual says never to use the panel while asleep and to wear the supplied glasses every session. The MARS 400 product page asks you to get professional advice first if you are pregnant, photosensitive, take photosensitising medication or have a relevant medical condition. Other makers publish their own lists.
The American Academy of Dermatology advises against using sunglasses instead of protective goggles; our guide on eyes open or closed during red light sessions explains why. Resty's MARS product pages say a panel can feel warm during longer sessions and ask you to keep the ventilation clear. For pain or a skin condition, see a doctor or dermatologist.
How we compared these panels
We compared LED panels that EU shoppers can order and whose makers publish size, LED count, wavelengths and power: one model per brand, the closest in size to a Resty MARS panel, plus a second Joovv model. Size classes: compact under 45 cm tall, half-body 45 to 110 cm, full-body 150 cm and taller. Sources were makers' product and policy pages and reports, checked on 17 October 2026; Resty figures come from the MARS product pages, manual v2.0 and feelresty.com policies. Inch and pound values are converted ("approx."); where a maker's sources disagree, both values are shown. We did not buy, measure or test any panel.
Excluded: masks, caps, heat lamps and saunas (different devices; see our infrared heat lamp vs red light panel guide); Mito Red Light and GembaRed (no EU shipping); Kala (international terms not stated); EMR-TEK (little EU search demand); Sunlighten (EU delivery not confirmed); Medisana and Beurer (no LED panel found); and brands seen only in marketplaces, comparison lists or search results that we could not verify on the maker's pages. Prices are left out because they change often.
This is not a full market overview; tables are sorted by size class, then alphabetically by brand. Resty sells the MARS panels and earns no commission from other brands. We re-check at least every 90 days and before any edit.
Frequently asked questions
Which red light therapy panel should you choose for home use?
It depends on the area you want to cover. Among panels whose makers state that they ship from inside the EU, compact options include the Nanoleaf Light Therapy Panel, Nuvibody CORE 300 and Resty MARS 400 (our product); half-body options for the torso or legs include the Dermfix RLF1500, PlatinumLED BIOMAX 900 and Resty MARS 1000 (our product). For the whole body, see the full-body tables.
Which red light panel is the most powerful?
Published figures cannot settle that. Makers state irradiance at different distances, with different instruments and modes: MITO LIGHT gives 165 mW/cm² (solar meter) and 90 (spectrometer) for the same panel at 15 cm. Laboratory studies also describe a biphasic dose response, so more light is not automatically better.
Which red light panels ship from inside the EU?
In this October 2026 comparison, Dermfix (Germany), Nanoleaf, Nuvibody, PlatinumLED and Resty state that they ship from inside the EU. Liroma and Vitalwave (Netherlands) and MITO LIGHT (Czech Republic) are EU-based but state no dispatch location; MITO LIGHT names VAT and customs only for non-EU orders. Hooga and Joovv (USA) and Red Light Rising (UK or another non-EU warehouse) ship from outside the EU and say the buyer pays any customs charges.
Does "FDA registered" mean a panel is approved or cleared?
No. The FDA says an entry in its registration and listing database does not denote approval, clearance or authorisation; clearance is a separate decision for a specific device, with a 510(k) number you can check in the FDA's own database.
Do I need eye protection with a red light panel?
Yes: use the eye protection supplied and follow the manual's distance and session guidance. On 17 October 2026, all 13 brands compared here said that eye protection comes with the panel, in the box list or, for Dermfix and Vitalwave, in the instructions; that includes every Resty MARS panel. Our distance and session time guide covers each MARS model.
Do I need more than 660 nm and 850 nm?
Not necessarily. Of the 19 panels in this October 2026 comparison, seven list two nominal wavelengths (red at 640 to 660 nm, near-infrared at 850 nm) and twelve list four to nine. A longer list shows which wavelengths are present, not how much light each delivers. Our 660 nm vs 850 nm guide explains the difference.
How much electricity does a red light panel use?
It depends on the real draw and session length. Some makers publish consumption (Hooga 112 W, Dermfix 492 W, MITO LIGHT 1852 W); others give an LED rating or volt-amperes. Resty publishes nominal power; our electricity cost calculator estimates running cost per MARS model.
Does Mito Red Light ship to the EU, and is it the same company as MITO LIGHT?
No to both. MITO LIGHT is a Czech company in Pilsen that sells the Master 5.0 compared here. Mito Red Light is a separate US company; on 17 October 2026 its shipping policy said it was unable to ship to EU countries.
